چکیده

INTRODUCTION Neurological symptoms after percutaneous coronary intervention can have grave implications. The symptoms may result from relatively benign conditions like migraine to potentially life-threatening conditions such as intracranial bleeding. CASE PRESENTATION We describe a case of a 57-year-old woman who developed significant neurological symptoms following percutaneous coronary intervention. An early 'unenhanced' computed tomography scan of the brain was reported as a possible 'subdural haematoma'. The symptoms reversed within hours and the computed tomography scan was normal 24 hours later. The diagnosis and its possible mechanism are discussed. CONCLUSION Definitive diagnosis in such a case can only be obtained from the radiological features and thus a detailed study is essential.

Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension Plus Cerebral Venous Thrombosis: A Case Report Study

This is a case study of a 34-year-old woman who was admitted to hospital with a history of severe orthostatic headache. She was diagnosed as having spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) by undetectable cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure at lumbar puncture, and with evidence of diffuse dural enhancement of the brain detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, the contrast-enhance...

Dural arteriovenous fistula on the convexity presenting with pure acute subdural hematoma.

Non-traumatic dural arteriovenous fistula/malformation (dural AVF/AVM) presenting with pure subdural hematoma (SDH) is relatively rare. We report on a male patient who showed pure acute SDH and was diagnosed as having dural AVF on the convexity near the superior sagittal sinus (SSS), based on angiographic findings. A 27-year-old man was admitted to our hospital due to headache with acute onset....

A Case of Unusual Presentation of Contrast-induced Encephalopathy after Cerebral Angiography Using Iodixanol

Contrast-induced encephalopathy after cerebral angiography is a rare complication and until now, only few cases have been reported. This paper reports on contras-induced encephalopathy mimicking meningoencephalitis after cerebral angiography by using iodixanol, an iso-osmolar non-ionic contrast agent. A 58-year-old woman underwent cerebral angiography for the evaluation of multiple intracranial...
